MOOGOO HAIR CARE | FOR ITCHY AND FLAKY SCALP

It all started with a cows moisturised udders and evolved into one of the most environmentally friendly companies out there. Moogoo is a small Aussie company with a popularity that's outstretched to international fanfare. With a bucket load of green washed brands lurking around, Moogooexemplifies ingredient transparency, sustainability and customer focus. Their skin care and hair care range can be used by the whole family, but specialized for troublesome skin, including sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.

How handsome are those cows on those bottles? You wouldn't think you'll be saying that about cows, but this entire line and packaging is the exemplar of totally cute. Okay, must not get carried away, or this whole post will be about cows.
My skin is quite sensitive to synthetic ingredients, more so, harsh synthetic ingredients. My sensitivity manifests into dry, itchy and flaky skin. By using commercial brands (shampoo + conditioner), my fingers were constantly in my hair, scratching at my scalp to relief the itch. In turn, my scalp will become inflamed and sore, flaking all over. I've now been using Moogoo Milk Shampoo + Cream Conditioner for 4 years now and my scalp has become soothed into a steady calm with no snowy flakes and zero itch. Yep, I've become a part of the herd.

'We wanted to make products safe enough to drink (in moderation!), use natural ingredients proven to improve the condition of the hair, and lastly take care of the scalp without the traditional chemicals.'

Scalp Friendly Milk Shampoo

If you were to read the ingredients on the many conventional shampoo bottles sitting on the market, you'll be haste in throwing them away. Many of their ingredients pose as potential irritants, carcinogens and toxins. It's a clear sign to stay away. This includes scalp care shampoos/conditioners...you know the one with a head and some shoulders..

In conjunction with other natural ingredients, it's the type of cleansers a brand would use that may aggravate an already inflamed scalp. A scalp care shampoo would need to use mild and gentle cleansers to aid in scalp recovery. Moogoo have utilised the use of many mild and gentle cleansers (all in small amounts), with their main ingredient carrying the same irritancy as water.  Additionally, they've selectively chosen ingredients that helps to rectify scalp problems by controlling the micro flora of the scalp.

I wash my short curls every third day and use styling creams regularly. This shampoo will remove all and any product build-up with 2 rinses. Hair and scalp feel and look squeaky clean without the cleansers stripping any moisture from the hair. My 2.5 year old daughter has long curls and one rinse will cleanse her hair effectively. As well as cleansing the hair, this shampoo also conditions the hair and scalp.

I've recommend this shampoo to three friends who suffer from dandruff. While this is not marketed as an anti-dandruff shampoo, it has certainly helped. 2 out of the three no longer have dandruff, while the third still has dandruff but it has marginally improved. If you read the many online reviews, people suffering from psoriasis have used this shampoo and seen vast improvements. It promotes a healthy scalp, which makes it ideal for the entire family.

Scalp Friendly Cream Conditioner

With only a few ingredients, this conditioner will replenish moisture to the hair shaft naturally, without weighing the hair. It leaves hair soft and makes de-tangling an easier feat, with conditioning oils such as jojoba and olive oil. This cream conditioner also manages flora to improve scalp condition.

While a natural shampoo/conditioner might carry natural fragrances (essential oils), do keep in mind, it might still stir a sensitive scalp or an allergic reaction in some. It's because of this, Moogoo have opted to develop a fragrant oil blend (phthalate free) that is under the EU allergy threshold, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. The scent for the 'Milk Shampoo' is subtle but sweet. It has that 'freshly cleaned' aroma which I quite like. I'm sure I detect the scent of of coconut in the 'Cream Conditioner', either way it smells lovely.

Moogoo's 45,000 + Facebook followers is  not just a testament to their line, but to their exceptional staff and customer support. You have any questions, they would be answered immediately, a product didn't work well for you, they'll endeavour to refund or exchange. I urge you to explore the rest of their line and fall in love with their quirky humour and the many cows modelling their brand. Oh and don't be worried if you hear a loud MOOOOO when you contact them, they do have actual people answering your calls.

Side note: Moogoo also have a 'Scalp Cream' that is a 'natural  moisturiser for Cradle Cap in babies or Seborrheic Dermatitis in adults', to help bring skin back to a healthy condition. It works too, it cleared my daughters severe cradle cap within three days.

I would love to know if you've tried anything from this line? Do tell.
