With a tots adorbs (we're updating ourselves with teenage slang) packaging and an eco-conscious line, Dusty Girls have created a cosmetic range employing clays and minerals of the earth to help you get your glow on.

I've already raved about their 'Tinted Earth Cream' here and continued to do so here and here. I'm going to begin to rave about the rest, because really, it's that good. Did I mention they're Aussie? Our national anthem is echoing in my head right about now. Oh for all you international folks, Dusty Girls do have a UK and US site, so you can purchase directly from those locations, instead of it travelling all the way from Aus. Shipping rates are reasonable too.

Blush + Bronzer

A mineral blush that can double as a highlighter? Yes ma'am. The perfect shade of pink appropriately called 'Pink Ladies'.It can be worn subtly or be built for a soft gorgeous flush of colour, that defines the cheeks as well as highlighting the cheekbones. This blush does have specks of golden shimmer throughout, but when applied onto the skin, its sparkle is subdued. It acts to accentuate the high points of the cheeks, adding a sheen to the top of the cheekbones, subtly accenting them when the sun catches. There is also another blush shade called 'Golden Delicious' that is a bronze with a somewhat peach undertone, as mentioned by Natalie from Natalie's Beauty Base. For a swatch click here. The ingredient list is something to boast about, with a list so short, you'll find natural oils, oxides and micas sitting at the forefront. Thumbs up for staying power!

ingredients: Zinc Stearate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Zinc Oxide, Macadamia Oil Ester, Jojoba Esters, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Coconut Amino Acid, Malic Acid (Fruit based pH balancer), Micas, Tin Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarines

Price: $25 AUD (for UK click here, for the US click here)

Lookin' for an 'Aussie outdoorsy glow'?  Hello 'Sunshine'! This pressed mineral bronzer only comes in one shade but it is a gorgeous bronze with a golden shimmer base that's very subtle. It is however the right shade to avoid the 'muddy' or 'dirty' look, but it is pigmented, so be careful with that heavy hand.  It will give you that healthy sun-kissed glow with light contouring to enhance your features. For strong definition of the facial features, I don't believe this bronzer is the right fit. I have seen this used as an eye-shadow and it does look lovely. Again the ingredient list is short, insert applaud, with Jojoba and Macadamia oil esters, micas and oxides dominating. Thumbs up for staying power!

ingredients: Zinc Stearate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Zinc Oxide, Ethyl Macadamiate (Macadamia Oil Ester), Jojoba Esters, Tocopherol (Vitamin E Natural), Lauroyl Lysine (Coconut Amino Acid), Malic Acid (Fruit based pH balancer), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Tin Oxide (CI 778161).

Mineral Mascara For Those Sensitive Eyes.

If you’re a gal that rocks the 'natural' look, you'll enjoy 'Night Fall', which is quite a fitting name. Although it does remind me of a James Bond movie or was it Adele's theme song for a James Bond movie? With a heavy sigh, my husband just informed me the song is called 'Sky Fall' ...close enough.
This mascara bears the traditional bristle brush, big and all, but it won't clump or flake. It does add a bold pitch black tint to your lashes giving just slight volume and length. This mascara dials down the drama and instead adheres to the 'natural look' rule book- I'm pretty sure there's one. It's your lashes but better kind of mascara. I personally prefer to wear mascaras that'll give a boost of volume and length, but I'm sure there a plenty of you who prefer natural looking lashes.

'We don’t want to dash hopes that miracles really happen, but mascara can’t give you 'illegal length lashes'. It simply blackens the fine light coloured ends of lashes so they appear a mm or two longer. To do this, mascara needs to be very black and sticky, often using Pine tar like Roson or Coliphony, along with sticky black pigments, some with oil or tar origins.' - Dusty Girls

Well now we don't want that now do we. Instead of tars and all those cheap synthetics, the savvy herd at Dusty Girls have instead appointed 'Jojoba Oil' to add shine (and nourishment of course) and 'Acacia Gum' to act as food grade alternative to pine tars. With commercial mascaras loaded with irritants and parabens, it's no surprise you might exhibit sensitivity and itchy eyes. Dusty Girls mascara show cases clean ingredients, with a few that are certified organic, so if you jab yourself in the eye, which I have managed to do many times, don't worry yourself. It's a gentle formulation, so generally you wouldn't find watery eyes or redness. Still though, try to avoid jabbing, it's no fun.

ingredients: Water, Glycerine*, Alcohol Denatured, Acacia Senegal Gum, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sucrose*, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax*, Cetyl Alcohol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Kaolin, Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).  *Certified Organic.

Mineral Lip Shine

Pucker up with 'Argyle Pink'! This 'Mineral Lip Shine' boasts little ingredients of only the good stuff to condition and hydrate with a tint of colour and shine, oh and very soft lips indeed. An occasional lick hear and there- no harm done when your ingesting some sweet almond seed oil, watermelon seed oil, apricot seed oil, grape seed oil, Shea butter and vitamins E to name just a few.

This lip shine does display a gorgeous pink tint to your lips that although it doesn't sit for long (an hour or two), it deposits a glories shine that acts as a highlight for the lower lip and cupid's bow, emphasising them both. I would say this lip shine is between a tinted lip balm and a lip gloss. It's very creamy and glides on smoothly. I take this everywhere. When I have no time to fiddle with lipstick and certainty no time to worry about staying inside the lines, this is my go to. It's quick to apply and can competently complete your minimal day look. It does only come in one shade, but I distinctly remember reading more shades are currently in development.

What makes this lip shine notable is its absence of carmine, which is a known allergen. Many cosmetic brands that I own contain carmine in their ingredients, which I wish they could find an alternative to. Carmine is a red or pink pigment/dye that is achieved by crushing and boiling Cochineal insects (correct me if I'm wrong). Dusty Girls instead use 'Caesalpinia Sappan Bark Extract,' which I think requires an applaud, so lets insert one.

ingredients: Almond (Prunus Dulcis Amara) Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Citrullus Vulgaris (Watermelon) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Seed Oil), Mica & Titanium Dioxide & Tin Oxide, Caesalpinia Sappan Bark Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Oleyl Oleate (Wax Ester), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Candelia Wax, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Carnauba Wax
Price: $15.50 AUD (for UK click here, for the US click here)

That about wraps it up- there is a mineral foundation and lip glosses available too that I haven't tried. I hope you get a chance to try this line- Dusty Girls are a bunch of Aussies who wholeheartedly care about what you put on your body and they work tirelessly for the wellness of us all.

Laugh often, be well
